Pet Passport and Travel Advice

Thinking of taking your pet abroad or bringing an animal into the UK? The pet passport scheme allows this whilst avoiding lengthy quarantine stays for your pet. The pet passport scheme has set rules that must be abided by, once these rules are met a passport can be issued by a veterinary surgeon. It has recently become much simpler to obtain a passport for your pet. The main requirements are that the pet must be microchipped and vaccinated against rabies. If you are travelling to other countries with your pet, it is important to remember that they may be exposed to parasites and diseases which we do not have in the UK. We can give advice on protection against diseases such as leishmaniasis, heartworm and tick-borne diseases. Protection needs to be given some time before travel so please ask for advice as soon as you know when and where you are traveling. We have a new service for pets going abroad
